Thanks for keeping us supplied with Starbucks, Dad!

We’ve had a great time celebrating Fathers, Dads and Daddies on Facebook this week. And your responses have made it even more fun.  As the big ‘D’-day approaches, we came across an interesting tidbit regarding the annual Father’s Day gifting dilemma.

In a survey conducted by Harris Interactive, 60% of women thought that tickets to a sporting event would put a smile on Dad’s face. Now admittedly, if we’re talking Wisconsin dads and Packers tickets, it is safe to say this is right on the money.

However of the 2000 fathers surveyed nationwide, the majority of men responding (52 percent) said what they really want is a tablet or Smartphone.

OK, no surprise there.  But what came in #2 just might be.

The #2 most requested Father’s Day gift was a home-cooked meal. Yep…nothin’ says lovin’ like something from the oven…or the grill…or the stovetop. Regardless of what you have planned for celebrating dear ol’ Dad, we agree that taking time out to gather for a Dad-centered breakfast, lunch or dinner is a great way to create some great Father’s Day memories for the whole family.

As for the rest of Dads top five requests, #3 was tickets to a sporting event (36 percent), #4 was power tools (34 percent), and #5 was guilt-free weekend with friends (30%). Please note: there was no mention of ties or cologne!
